Caring for your quilts etc.....
Each quilt will need some special care the first few times you wash it. To prevent darker colored fabrics from "bleeding" or losing their color, please wash the quilt separately, on cold water cycle, with light heat in the drier. Include in the washing a Color Catcher. These can be bought at any grocery store and will help prevent the change of colors of the fabric. It is best to wash the quilts by themselves to protect both the quilt and other laundry.
When a quilt is completed and washed, it will "fluffen up and settle." This means that it will shrink slightly the first time it is washed and settle into a crinkly state. This is normal and the prefered look of most quilts. When you first receive the quilt it may be completely smooth or possible slightly stiff but once washed, it softends up and the body of the quilt settles around the stitching.
Other items....
When caring for place mats, candle mats, potholders and
towels, washing once with a color catcher should be sufficient. Then you should be able to wash them normally, but with cold water.
Pet Beds.......
Each cover is easily removable and can be washed normally. Keep in mind that velcro can catch on other laundry so be careful what you wash with the bed cover.
